Profil

Marian Clemens Manz is Conservator of Paintings and Sculptures and works as Doctoral Student and Research Assistant at the Digital Humanities Lab of the University of Basel. After completing his Master's degree in conservation sciences at the “Hochschule der Künste Bern” (HKB) he worked as assistant at the HKB’s “Institute Materiality in Art and Culture” (2020 - 2021). Since 2021 he works as specialist for the 3D digitization of cultural heritage objects at the Scanning Lab in the Digital Humanities Lab and is responsible for 3D digitization and visualization within the project “DigitalesSchauDepot” (DSG) of the University's History Department (since 2022) as well as various other internal and external projects. Furthermore, as substitute lecturer and assistant he is teaching about digitization, visualization and processing of 3D data at the University of Basel (since 2021) and the University of Geneva (2022). He is part of the organization team of the annual DHCH Summer School in Rome and member of the IIIF 3D Community Group.
