CFP: Digital Humanities Masterclass

19 - 25 April 2020 Andé (France)

iCo-organized by DARIAH-EU, Inria, the German Historical Institute in Paris and Le Mans Université, with the support of the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, this 2020 edition will be Lexical Data, Manuscript Edition and authority data Masterclass in one, and will take place in the Moulin d’Andé (Normandie, France) from 19 to 25 April 2020.

DHMC2020 will bring 30 European advanced trainees together with experts to share experiences, methods and techniques for the creation, management and use of lexical data, digital scholarly editions and authority data.

The masterclass will cover a number of topics related to the creation, encoding, analysis and dissemination of digital sources in the humanities, with a specific interest on lexical content and scholarly editions. This will include working with the framework offered by the TEI guidelines and mastering the tools available for this purpose. The participants will have a chance to attend different sessions, consult with experts on their own digital projects and address the different steps of the digitisation process, including social media strategy.

The masterclass will also feature lightning talks by the experts turning the spotlight towards original fields of research in the areas of linguistics, literary studies, history and musicology.

Potential applicants should submit a short proposal presenting their background and interest in the field together with a description of a concrete project involving lexical data that they would like to pursue during the masterclass (2 p. max.).

Participation is free of charge. Accommodation will be covered for all participants, a travel subsidy (60 EUR for France, 100 EUR for other countries) is offered to all participants. Please note that participants share rooms at the Moulin d’Andé (rooms for 2 people).
