Starting on November 1st, 2019 our Department Monitoring Society and Social Change, Team German Microdata Lab located in Mannheim, is looking for a Research Associate (PostDoc) (Salary group 14 TV-L, 100 %, initially limited to 4 years) Monitoring current social developments is a primary objective of the social sciences. The department “Monitoring Society and Social Change” supports the social sciences in this task, by providing comprehensive data and tools to describe and analyse social changes. Your tasks will include: Conceptualization of the scientific-use files of the German Microcensus from 2020, taking into account the Mikrozensusgesetz 2016. Further development of the research-based services for the Microcensus Preparation and documentation of Microcensus data Research in the field of social stratification and social structure analysis Cooperation with external committees and official statistics Your profile: Completed doctoral/Ph.D. degree in the social sciences, followed by several years of professional experience Profound knowledge of official household surveys and their research potential for the social sciences Very good knowledge of statistical methods and expertise in the analysis of complex data sets Very good knowledge of statistical evaluation software (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Stata, R) Publication experience in peer-reviewed journals For further information concerning the tasks please contact Dr. Heike Wirth via phone +49-621-1246-269 or via E-Mail.
