Profile

Elisabeth Glunz analyses how individuals respond to climate-related risks, such as increasing heat. Her PhD research is part of the ICARUS project at the Digital Humanities Lab. She is also a member of the Society and Choice PhD program at the Department of Psychology.

Her research aims to improve our understanding of both, how climate hazards impact people emotionally and why they act upon impacts and sources of climate change. She also tries to connect these two questions by analyzing the interplay between psychological resilience toward heat and people’s attitude. For this, she uses data from international and intensive longitudinal studies. In her analyses, she applies and evaluates theories from environmental and health psychology using multilevel modeling and machine learning methods.
