Marc is a postdoctoral researcher in the ICARUS project at the Digital Humanities Lab. With a background in engineering and computational neuroscience, he works at the intersection of data science and computational social science. His research examines how rising heat due to climate change affects people’s physical and psychological well-being. To do this, Marc analyses large-scale, heterogeneous data from biology, physiology, psychology, and climate science. Based on these data, he develops machine learning models to identify the factors that put individuals at risk. A further goal is to turn these insights into tools that help at-risk citizens avoid negative effects of heat.
